At the heart of our mission, ONE HAND INITIATIVE (OHI) believes education is the key to unlocking the full potential of girls in Kenya. We provide scholarships, mentorship, and holistic support to a select group of highly motivated young women from diverse, disadvantaged backgrounds, guiding them through high school, university, and into employment.
Education is, indeed, a social equalizer for these girls. We hold one girl’s hand at a time as they access their education. We currently support 12-14 girls.
Our mission is to cultivate a sisterhood of empowered women as they scale the education ladder, breaking the cycle of poverty and gender inequality. We nurture their academic journey, providing financial assistance, safe housing, and unwavering support to ensure their success. Together, we empower these young women to be agents of change within their communities.
One Hand Initiative is a small grassroots organization started and driven by women. Women helping women trying to make a small difference in our world. The education of girls will have real meaningful impact, affecting generations to come.
One Hand Initiative’s Dream:
Raise $30,000 to build a center where the girls can meet, brainstorm, share ideas and meals, come together as a sisterhood where they can plan ways of supporting other girls to help OHI’s mission grow.
